SHEA Guidelines

As part of its mission to help prevent healthcare associated infections, SHEA works to provide information and tools to healthcare professionals, researchers, and patients to help put the science of healthcare epidemiology and infection prevention into practice.

SHEA and collaborators prepare evidence-based practical guidelines, white papers, and other resources on infection prevention and control for hospitals, long-term care centers, and other healthcare facilities. These documents cover the spectrum of healthcare epidemiology and infection prevention concerns for researchers and practitioners.

Oversight:
SHEA guidelines are overseen by the SHEA Guidelines Committee, and are produced by writing groups comprised of the foremost experts in these topic areas. Guideline documents are renewed as data and conditions warrant.
