Kerri A Thom, MD, MS, is an infectious disease physician and assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore. She is also Associate Hospital Epidemiologist at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Thom's research interests include the epidemiology and transmission of multidrug-resistant gram negative pathogens, antimicrobial resistance and infection prevention. She has a particular interest in Acinetobacter baumannii and is currently supported by an NIH K23 award to study the epidemiology of this pathogen in the healthcare setting. Currently Dr. Thom serves as the General Planning Chair for the SHEA Spring 2013 Conference.
