Fundamentals of Healthcare Epidemiology:
Essentials for Preventing Healthcare-Associated Infections
Eight-hour online educational offering adapted from the SHEA/CDC Training Course in Healthcare Epidemiology to provide healthcare providers with a foundation in healthcare epidemiology and infection prevention.
The course is approved by the California Department of Public Health to fulfill the 2008 California mandate that individuals acting as epidemiologists or chairing hospital infection control committees to obtain CME-accredited training in hospital epidemiology.

The ESCMID-SHEA course features international experts and covers infection control within the hospital setting and will be an intensive program that offers a hybrid of the standard and applied European programmes.
This intensive training programme aims at those working in infection control and hospital epidemiology and is approved by two prestigious international societies in the field of infectious diseases: the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) and the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID). The ESCMID/SHEA Training Course in Hospital Epidemiology was first established in 1999 and over the years evolved into the leading European course in its field.

The 14th Annual Fellows Course on Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, a three-day training course in Introductory Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control for Infectious Diseases, Pulmonary, and Critical Care fellows, physicians, residents and other practitioners, endorsed by SHEA and IDSA.

Online Fellows Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology Course
The online IDSA/SHEA Infection Control Fellows Course was adapted from the Johns Hopkins 8th Annual Fellows Course on Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control held July 7-9, 2004. The course is organized by the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and the University of Maryland, the University of Virginia, Brown University, Wake Forest University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Washington University, and endorsed by the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA). The online version of the course was developed through collaboration between IDSA, SHEA, and Johns Hopkins University.
