This grant funded by the SHEA Education and Research Foundation, and guided by the SHEA Research committee, will award up to $40,000 to an early investigator within 5 years of completion of training to conduct a research project that addresses knowledge gaps and new challenges in healthcare epidemiology and antibiotic stewardship research. The winner will be announced virtually.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants are early investigators who possess a MPH, PhD, PharmD, or MD or similar terminal degree, and are within 5 years of completion of training. Applicants will submit project ideas to be executed with the oversight of a mentor. Should the Research Committee receive more than one application that scores high during the application evaluation period, and they are within the $40,000 limit, multiple grants will be awarded within a single grant cycle.
