Kris Bryant, MD

Dr. Kris Bryant is the hospital epidemiologist at Kosair Children's Hospital and member of the leadership team that oversees infection prevention and control efforts at Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY.

She serves as a member of the Kentucky-State Regional Infection Prevention and Epidemiology (K-STRIPE) Advisory Committee, a group of professionals from different health care fields dedicated to preventing healthcare-associated infections. She is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where she directs the Kosair Charities Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship program.

Dr. Bryant has been an active member of SHEA since 2000. She is the chair of the SHEA Guidelines Committee, was a long-time member of the Pediatric Special Interest Group, and is a member of the SHEA Pediatric Leadership Council steering committee. She has a special interest in involving fellows in SHEA committees and special projects.

Dr. Bryant's research interests include the prevention of device-associated infections in children and vaccine clinical trials. She is an active participant in national research collaboratives to study the epidemiology and prevention of HAIs and MDROs in children.
