Carol E. Chenoweth, MD, MS

Dr. Chenoweth is Professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, at the University of Michigan Health System and is a Clinical Professor in Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She served as the UMHS Hospital Epidemiologist for over 20 years and currently acts as the Associate Director of the UMHS Antimicrobial Stewardship Team.

Dr. Chenoweth current serves as SHEA Treasurer and has held previous positions as member and chair of the Publications Committee, Annual Meeting Planning Committee, Awards Committee, and member of the 2010 5th Decennial International Conference on Healthcare-Associated Infections Planning Committee. She is also Associate Editor of Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology.

Her research interests focus primarily on the epidemiology and prevention of healthcare-associated infections in specialized patient populations.
