Sharon B. Wright, MD, MPH

Dr. Sharon B. Wright is the Director of the Division of Infection Control/Hospital Epidemiology in the Silverman Institute for Health Care Quality and Safety at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She is an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and is on the faculty of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Dr. Wright received her medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and her master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Wright currently serves as a Councilor on the SHEA board, a member of the SHEA Awards Committee and a Course Director for the online fellows’ course.

Her research interests include the epidemiology and transmission of community-associated MRSA, prevention of surgical site infections and ventilator-associated pneumonia, and training of infectious disease fellows in infection control.
