Graeme Forrest, MD

Graeme Forrest is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Disease at the Portland VA Healthcare System and Oregon Health and Science University. He is the director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at both institutions.

Dr. Forrest received his medical degree from the University of Adelaide, Australia and after a 5 year period of surgical training moved to the United States. His internal medicine residency was at Columbus Hospital, Chicago and Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Maryland, Baltimore where he stayed on faculty after completion of the fellowship.

In 2013 he established a collaborative of hospitals in establishing antimicrobial stewardship programs in the state of Oregon and has an interest in utilizing rapid diagnostics in daily function of ASP’s as well as stewardship in transplant populations.
