Susan A. Dolan, RN MS CIC FAPIC

Susan A. Dolan, RN MS CIC FAPIC a long time SHEA member is the 2016 President for the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology(APIC).

She is a previous APIC Board member (2013-14) and chair of APIC’s Public Policy committee (2011-12). A fellow of APIC (FAPIC) and board certified in infection prevention and control (CIC), Susan is an advocate for healthcare-associated infection public policy and spearheaded the crafting and passage of Colorado’s first HAI reporting bill in 2006. Her outbreak investigative work uncovered contamination of alcohol prep pads, which resulted in an international recall of the product and changes in industry standards. Her role in discovering contaminated alcohol prep pads earned her a Group Recognition Award from the FDA Office of Regulatory Affairs. In 2012, Susan received the SHEA Advanced Practice Infection Preventionist Award. Susan has worked in the Department of Epidemiology/Infection Prevention and Control at Children’s Hospital Colorado since 1994. She received her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York and her master’s degree from the University of Rochester (NY).
