  • A report was released in September 07 by an ad hoc IOM committee on the study of PPE for healthcare workers during an influenza pandemic.  SHEA members Trish Perl, MD, MSc, Leonard Mermel, DO, SCm, Keith Woeltje, MD, PhD, and David Calfee, MD testified to the committee.  Dr. Perl participated on the committee and Dr. Mermel served as a reviewer of the document.  slide show; executive summary

    Southeastern Center for Emerging Biologic Threats - Critical Issues in Responding to Pandemic Influenza (2/10/05)

    Seasonal & Pandemic Influenza 2006: At the Crossroads…A Global Opportunity, Washington, DC (1/31-2/2).  SHEA, with CDC, IDSA, and NIAID cosponsored a program focused on seasonal and pandemic flu preparation and communication.  The Companion Slide Set was created by the Scientific Committee for healthcare providers to use in talks that they are giving on the issue.  The Seasonal and Pandemic Influenza Monograph was created as an accompaniment to the slides.
